Hebrew 12:2 looking to Jesus the pioneer and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
Jesus endured the cross for the JOY that he could see at the end of every suffering, hardship, shame, rejection, pain and sorrow. Nothing good comes on a silver plate. Jesus endured, and He is now enjoying life at the right hand of God His father. There is great joy at the successful completion of every project we undertake.
Mark 8:22-24 ¶ And they came to Bethsaida. And some people brought to him a blind man, and begged him to touch him. 23 And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the village; and when he had spit on his eyes and laid his hands upon him, he asked him, “Do you see anything?” 24 And he looked up and said, “I see men; but they look like trees, walking.” 25 Then again he laid his hands upon his eyes; and he looked intently and was restored, and saw everything clearly.
Sometimes in life, we become blind of the healing power of Jesus and we carry burdens that are unnecessary. Jesus full of compassion and love for us sees and comes to our rescue. He touches our spiritual and physical blindness and we can see clearly. We can see new opportunities in life. We can see how much we can do to transform other peoples lives and give them reason to live. We can see our purposes in life and this creates vision, then vision creates mission, them mission creates provision. This man had been blind all along and a burden to everyone. Jesus gave him sight. The first thing he could see was people like trees; nothing important, nothing interesting in life and so on. Jesus touched him again and this time round he could see clearly. The second touch is the one that gives us reason to live and thrive. Reason to make friends worldwide. Reason to discover and recover ourselves. Reason to get out of cocoon of bitterness and self-pity, dust ourselves off the past failures and get moving. Reason to enjoy life to the fullest. Entitlement to excellent health and wealth. It leads us to personal relationship and interaction with Jesus. Reason to pursue and fulfill our dreams. You have what it takes for second touch.
God will never give you what you don’t see. He allows and waits for you to see first then he gives you. What do you see? Do you see yourself becoming a person of positive influence in the whole world? Do you see yourself having a family of great children of substance who must be consulted before major decisions are made in your country? Do you see yourself having a Diplomatic passport traveling to every nation under the sun serving God? Do you see yourself as an instrument of change in your community? What do you see?
Rebekah lifted up her eyes and saw Isaac. her husband. Isaac lifted his eyes and saw Rebekah his wife. Because of what each saw, their marriage lasted. What do you see? What do you see? God will give you what you see.
When I lifted my eyes at the cross of Jesus and saw salvation and glory of God, my life changed for ever. I began to have personal relationship with God. I have led countless people to Jesus whom I saw.
Begin to see. Begin to See.
