IS IT TRUE?

 Revelation 22:17

We are living in a generation that does not invest much in freebies.  Times without number, I have seen advertisement of products on television that seems too good to be true. Almost everything that seems free and sounds free ends up with strings attached. Hidden surprises and agendas are an everyday occurrence in this fast world. Many people have lost money and inheritances to some too good to believe ideas. Ponzi schemes have also destroyed lives of innocent people and ruined many more, leaving them devastated and despondent. Real estate went through a season of bubble bursting in America, leaving so many people homeless and helpless. This is the evidence of a universe that is fast becoming devious and uncaring.

The book of 1Corinthians 13:13, tells us that love is the fuel that can keep us running in this race of life. It is pure and untainted. Love does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness but rejoices when right and truth prevail. (1Cor 13:6) It will then not be an understatement to categorize people who perpetrate such heinous acts as those who have not yet been baptized unto love. They have not encountered love as a person; they are yet to have a personal relationship with God who is the embodiment of love

Now let’s come back to the issue of freebies; are there still free things that are precious, even more precious than diamond or gold?  What gift can anybody desire most that is free and can never be purchased with money or any other equivalent? I believe that can only be the gift of life; It is the pure and eternal gift that Jesus offered to all who thirst for that which money cannot buy. Christ the King said “Come! and let everyone come who is thirsty [who is painfully conscious of his need of those things by which the soul is refreshed, supported and strengthened;] and who ever [earnestly] desires to do it, let him come, take, appropriate, and drink the water of life without cost [Isaiah 55:1]”

What love is greater than this one, that the son of God has bestowed upon us. It is free; at no cost. He says “Have all of me; I am all yours.” When we drink from the well of life, (Jesus) we will never thirst again. In Christ, the spring of life, we are nourished with heavenly nutrients that prepare us for a good marathon. We will run and never be weary, even walk and never faint. Today we can make that choice, to accept the offer that the King is extending to us. It sounds too good to be true; but it is true, because it comes from the mouth of God. It is nothing but the absolute truth.
