In my mind, there are two types of buyers. Those that take things as is and those that prefer a customized version. When you go into a car dealership, you can take the car as you see it on the floor or you can ask for leather seats, a change in color, a navigation system, stick shift or automatic transmission or even heated seats. It all depends on what caters to your wants and needs.
Now let’s bring things back into the spiritual realm. I believe when we ask God or the Universe for something, it’s the same scenario as shopping for something like a car. We can either say “I’ll take my order as is” or ask for a customization. Please note however that if you ask for a customization, the standard delivery time may not apply to your order because changes take time.
Since I’m in fashion, I’ll use an example of ordering an Hermès bag. Did you know that customers may currently wait from six months to one year for delivery of one of the house’s signature bags? That’s not all, with certain bags, the process of hand-stitching individual pieces with linen thread and using an awl can take up to 2 years or more (depending on your taste for luxurious leather).
So what does this all mean? The next time you wonder where your soul mate is or why it didn’t work out with your last boyfriend, even why you didn’t get that job you interviewed so well for, please remember whether or not you put it a custom order with the Universe. Remember if you asked for just another job or one that would not only pay you well but also provide flexibility so that you can spend more time with your family. Remember if you asked for just another boyfriend or someone who would grow old with you, someone who would move heaven and earth to make you happy.
If you did put in a custom order, please know that nothing but the best is good enough for you. Know that it takes some time to put your custom order together including some time for finishing as well. One last thing, tell yourself over and over again that this exquisite order of yours will be right on time and will not go one second over God’s intended delivery date. On that note, happy shopping!
