Take Away My Reproach
Joshua 5:8-10Amplified Bible (AMP)
8 Then, when they had finished circumcising all [the males of] the nation, they stayed in their places in the camp until they were healed. 9 Then the Lord said to Joshua, “This day I have rolled away the reproach (derision, ridicule) of Egypt from you.” So the name of that place is called Gilgal (rolling) to this day.
What is that reproach (derision, ridicule, shame) in your life? What makes you groan and cry ceaselessly night and day? Barrenness, Sickness, Lack of a God ordained relationship, Poverty and many more can make life meaningless and burdensome. Israel the nation of the Lord went through years of suffering, pain and reproach in Egypt. Israelites were physically and emotionally abused in Egypt; they lost their dignity and morale. Their spirit as a nation in captivity was at the lowest ebb.
Hashem Adonai, (God who delivers the captives from the wicked) saw the situation of His people, He rose like a mighty flood and raised up a standard against Pharaoh and his land, setting Israel free from the reproach of slavery.
Prophetic Word: Thus saith the Holy One of Israel:
I will take away your shame, your ridicule and your dirty garments. You have been on a difficult journey that is about to end. You are about to enter Gilgal. Prepare yourself for the triumphant entry; let your hearts be circumcised, putting away all filth. On Wednesday, I will welcome you into your new land. This shall be a land of fulfilled promises. No more delay. This is a new season!
